Good At Friends

I Am Heather Cole

Hello, thanks for stopping by my page! Now that you're here, I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself and why I make music. From the first time I stepped on the stage it felt like home. At a very young age I started to fall in love with performing. I spent most of my childhood in the small town of Kodiak, Alaska where I sang at church, in choir, and at home with my family. (Dad played guitar, my older sister and I sang, and mom was our biggest supporter.) I later moved to Lynden, WA and then to Nashville, TN to study music at Belmont University.

After graduating, I toured as a background singer for my sister/best friend/country singer Rachele Lynae. Meanwhile I started working on my own music. But first I had to overcome a major fear I had--the belief that I was a bad writer. I never considered myself someone who was good with words, and I was crippled by the thought that my words would end up sounding foolish or insignificant. My sister really pushed me to put myself out there--just try and write what I know. I'm so glad I finally took her advice because now I love songwriting. It's my therapy. I get to work through my feelings by putting them into songs. But what I love most is getting to share my stories with you.

I hope that you connect with my music. I hope it inspires you in some way. Makes you feel joy, maybe a little bit of sadness, hope, strength, or takes you back to a certain memory or relationship. Or maybe just makes you want to get up and dance. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring about my music and for being interested in my journey. Without you none of this would be possible. You mean so much to me, and I hope that my music means something to you as well.
